This sticky, black concoction is the glue that holds our roads together. This highly viscous semi-solid form of petroleum is primarily used in road construction and acts as a binder, mixing with aggregate particles like sand, gravel, or crushed rock to create asphalt concrete.

It’s tough as nails, and we love it because it creates silky-smooth roads and runways. But Asphalt can be a challenge to cut, with aggregate mixes differing across the country, depending on the geology of the surrounding landscapes and the raw materials from quarry that go into the mix.
