OUR JOURNEY

Based in the beautiful city of Perth, surrounded by glorious countryside, at Diatech we are constantly reminded of the need to protect the natural world, and do all we can to minimise our impact on the environment. We are totally committed to sustainability, working hard towards our goal of making the business entirely Net Zero.

We are ISO14001 accredited, the international Standard for environmental management systems. This demonstrates our commitment as a business to protecting the environment, complying with increasingly stringent environmental laws and regulations. This standard ensures we are taking active steps to reduce our environmental impact.

OUR ACTIONS

Here are several examples of the work we have done and the steps we have taken to create a more sustainable business. However, we are not complacent. We know there is much more to be done and we are determined to do all we can to lessen our impact on the environment.

  • Our high-quality durable products are super-efficient, lasting longer and cutting faster, so the saws use less fuel and release less CO2 into the atmosphere.
  • Operationally, we make a point of recycling all used cardboard boxes from suppliers. These are shredded to provide packaging material for our outgoing orders.
  • We are dedicated to partnering with eco-friendly carriers, who are also all working towards achieving net zero. One of our carriers, DPD, won the ‘Net Zero Innovation of the Year Award’ at the Edie Awards 2024.
  • We are moving towards becoming a totally paperless operation with documents being scanned and filed electronically and actively encouraging our customers to subscribe to paperless correspondence.
  • Our new office building was designed in collaboration with local experts to be highly energy efficient. It is heated by a renewable energy source, a Mitsubishi heat pump, and uses LED lighting throughout the building.
  • As much as possible we hold business meetings online via Teams or Zoom, which saves on fuel and means less CO2 is being emitted into the atmosphere.
  • Our latest initiative is a recycling project for spent diamond blades (metal steel centre plated only). Customers will be incentivised to return their spent blades to us through the introduction of a discount scheme for future ordering.
  • When advising clients, we make a point of offering more environmentally friendly options such as the 230mm blades driven by Lithium-Ion saws, particularly suitable for roofers. We wait in anticipation for the competitively priced, more environmentally friendly, Lithium-Ion 12” saw to enter the market to run diamond blades on.

INNOVATING
FOR THE FUTURE

As a business we are always looking for new and innovative ways to ensure we are doing all we can to look after the environment, reflective of our commitment to ensure the highest level of quality of product and care to our customers. By choosing Diatech, our customers benefit from premium quality tools, but at the same time, are also contributing to a greener future.
