Product Overview
The SDS Max Drill Bit for Concrete is for larger applications and the drills are much larger than their SDS+ counterparts. They use a different system and the fitting on SDS max is not compatible with SDS+ without an adaptor. Fast and effective drill bit for concrete, masonry and brick.
What is SDS Max?
The humble Slotted Drive Shaft drill (or SDS for short) has been a well-established format for drilling since the mid-1970s.
Developed originally by Bosch, and similar to Hilti’s TE range of drills, the SDS Max is most commonly used with larger rotary hammer drills and chipping guns.
There’s some debate as to whether SDS really stands for the Steck-Dreh-Sitz, the original German term meaning “Insert-Twist-Stay” but, as time has gone on, the Slotted Drive System or Shaft has become the more commonly accepted meaning.
The SDS aspect of the drill bit is basically how the bit is held in the drill. The SDS Max drill lengths are also much longer than the standard SDS sizes, with a bigger shank.
Made from long lasting and durable steel, the SDS Max drill bits will stand up to the toughest applications and are ideal for larger-scale drilling and chiselling work.
